What is Integrative Gynecology?

Integrative Gynecology is Integrative Medicine specifically for gynecologic or women’s health issues. It means that we integrate the best ideas from traditional western medicine with the best ideas from alternative and complementary medicine, including Functional Medicine.

This starts with identifying the underlying root causes of your symptoms, and in gynecology, often times the answer is “hormone imbalances” - however it is important to understand what is causing these imbalances and correct that.

Dr. Jenkins uses her extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, patho-physiology (disease), nutrition, herbal medicine, and other holistic methods to provide you with a road-map for you to begin your healing journey.

Who are we?

We are a small private practice located in Oberlin, OH, that provides personalized Integrative Gynecology care for our patients. Our physician, Dr. Suzanne Jenkins, is a board-certified gynecologist who has a special interest in holistic healing.

We strive to provide well-rounded, respectful, evidenced-based care in a welcoming, relaxing environment. When you come in for your appointment, you can feel confident you are getting advice from someone who is both a board-certified expert in gynecology and who personally values natural options as first-line treatment if safely possible.

Who do we treat?

We treat patients from puberty on who have general gynecology concerns and are located in the state of Ohio.

As a gynecology practice, the majority of our patients identify as women, however we recognize that some people may require gynecologic care who identify somewhere else on the gender spectrum.  We are a Welcoming practice for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and are happy to provide hormone therapy and general gynecology care for all people in all stages of gender of affirmation, including transgendered women, men, and people who identify as non-binary. See Services for more information.

E-Consults (aka Telemedicine) available for patients in Ohio

Starting in late May 2019, Dr. Jenkins will be able to see patients throughout Ohio online for consultations. We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform called Doxy.me which does not require you to download any apps or software. Instead, after you book your appointment, you will simply receive an email with a unique link to Dr. Jenkins’ “digital office” through Doxy.me. You can use either your smart phone with its built-in camera and microphone or a desktop computer with web-cam and microphone. When it is time for your appointment, you will receive a phone call to get you “checked-in” and make sure you are able to connect properly.

Telemedicine is controlled by state licensing laws, and so Dr. Jenkins is only able to see patients digitally who are physically in the state of Ohio.

We do accept insurance for telemedicine consults, however we recommend you check your plan to be sure telemedicine is a covered service for you and that Dr. Jenkins is in your network prior to booking your appointment. If we do not accept your insurance, or telemedicine is not a covered service, you may still book a telemed consult as a Self-Pay patient.
